[/team]I was born and raised in “the region”, just outside Chicago where the people are hard like the work they do. I’m proud of my region roots, as they have made me the guy I am today. I had a modest blue collar upbringing. I’m a former athlete as I played football well into my 20’s. Football was my identity; I worked hard and it was rewarding. I had to leave the game sooner than I wanted and struggled to fill the void it left for years. I always had an appreciation for art and creativity, but was never considered the artistic type. While staring at an abstract gallery one random day, I suddenly found myself with an overwhelming urge to create my own works. I have never taken a class or received any formal instruction. Right now, I draw from my relationships, surroundings and my personal appreciation of existing works for inspiration. I will not be limited by a defined style or consistent theme in my work because I realize that I am continuing to grow as an artist. I learn something new from every piece I create. Painting demands that I have a plan, and adapt with progression. It demands of me incredible concentration. It challenges me to remain patient. It excites me to finish.
